April, Month of foods (for me... :D)
Do sometimes you feel hungry but the situation is not supporting? i mean the situation when you just have a little amount of money but you want to get full up your stomach by tasty foods. If you live in Surabaya especially near the Kenji beach, There is solution for you, That's Mak Yem's Pub & Restaurant.
In small place where located at TMB street, Mak Yem's Pub & Restaurant provides you tasty foods like the Pecel, lodeh, asem's soup and the others. But the main of Mak Yem's menu is the Pecel. You can... choose the alternate fish (red:iwak..) like egg or chicken, or if you are really poor, you can just choose "a ko fermented soybean patty" (red:tempe) for the fish. The second fish that you can enjoy is tempe, so if you are really poor you can have two tempe's. It's fun right? that you can put that second tempe on your pocket than give/share to your lovely one, *what this tempe's all about, ahhh..* not urgent.. (red:gak penting) Back to Mak Yem's Pecel... The other things that you can get are the peyeks. There are two type of peyeks,,, with scattered peanuts and with scattered teri-fishes. the teri-fishes are tiny fishes that the taste little salty, but its very good if you want to take diet programs because they (teri-fishes) are very tiny that they will not have bad effects on your weight.
The other things that i want to tell you are the atmospheres on Mak Yem's place. Maybe some people can enjoy (feel chill) because the cheapness although the temperature on that place is very hot. The other opinion is the bench/chair of the decoration. If you don't have shame you can put your foot on that bench/chair. So you can feel free... (????) And the other said that you can see the process of making the food by your own eyes... you can make sure that the foods were cooked correctly. Not like "Sate Tikus" on "gebang pojok" street (huweekk...). The drinks are also so simple that can reach by you even on "old day" (red:tanggal tua).
How about the Chef? who is the Chef? you are right.. Mak Yem's is the Chef. She looks so sexy when wearing her Chef costume (hadahhh....) Assisted by her husband (maybe...) whose provide the drinks, Mak Yem also assisted by another woman. Hmm... until now i don't know who is she (maybe her daughter...). Yau can see the performances of Mak Yem's on cooking the foods with her professional style...
Okay.. i think thats enough for you to have another refrences of "cheap but tasty" foods in Surabaya. Thank's...

I think teri fish is not really safe for our stomach (like Diffy stomach). when I like to eat teri fish so i'll eat it as much as I like. you know it is very dangerous.
